Course of Fire
- 3yd: Draw, 6 shots in 6s
- 5yd: Draw, 3 shots in 3s
- 5yd: Ready, 3 shots in 2s
- 5yd: Ready, 6 shots in 4s
- 7yd: Draw, 5 shots in 5s
- 7yd: Draw, 4 shots, reload, 4 shots in 8s
- 7yd: Ready, 5 shots in 4s
- 15yd: Draw, 3 shots in 6s
- 15yd: Ready, 3 shots in 5s
- 25yd: Draw, 4 shots, reload, 4 shots in 20s
Setup
QIT-99 or FBI-Q target (silhouette with bottle). Start holstered unless noted as ready position.
Total: 60 rounds
Strategy
The qualification tests fundamentals at increasing distances. Focus on smooth draws and clean trigger presses. The 25-yard stage is where most shooters lose points—take your time within the par.
About This Drill
The FBI Pistol Qualification is used to certify FBI agents and is widely adopted by law enforcement agencies. A score of 48/60 (80%) is required to pass. Shots inside the bottle score 1 point each.
